No Work Experience?
Your Resume Still Has a Story

Student resumes are written differently. We focus on what you do have: coursework, projects, case studies, and theoretical understanding of principles that employers need.

Why Student Resumes Are Different

Traditional resume advice doesn't work when you don't have years of professional experience to showcase.

The Problem

  • No relevant work experience to highlight
  • Generic resume templates that look like everyone else's
  • "Responsibilities included" bullets that say nothing
  • Employers can't see your actual capabilities
  • Competing against candidates with experience

Our Approach

  • Focus on coursework, projects, and case studies
  • Highlight theoretical understanding of principles
  • Translate academic work into employer language
  • Show you understand how concepts apply in practice
  • Position you as a quick learner ready to contribute

What We Focus On Instead

When you don't have practical experience, we showcase what proves you're ready to succeed.

Academic Achievement as Proof of Capability

Your coursework, projects, and academic experience demonstrate exactly what employers need to see: that you understand the principles and concepts required to succeed in your target role.

  • Relevant Coursework: We identify courses that directly relate to your target position and describe what you learned
  • Project Work: Case studies, group projects, and individual assignments that demonstrate practical application
  • Theoretical Understanding: Showing you grasp the "why" behind processes, not just the "how"
  • Transferable Skills: Leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving from any context

What We Ask You to Provide

  • "Walk me through your most challenging course project..."
  • "What concepts from your program apply to this role?"
  • "Tell me about a case study you worked on..."
  • "What tools or methodologies did you learn?"
  • "Describe a group project and your contribution..."

Why 15-30 Minutes Is Enough

Without extensive work history to discuss, we focus our time on understanding your academic background, relevant projects, and career goals. We'll ask you to share your course descriptions, transcripts, and any project documentation before your interview.

How We Transform Academic Experience

We take what seems like "just coursework" and translate it into proof you're ready for the job.

1

From Theory to Application

We show employers you don't just memorize concepts — you understand how to apply them. Your coursework becomes evidence of job-ready knowledge.

2

Projects as Mini-Experience

Case studies, group projects, and research papers demonstrate problem-solving, analysis, and execution — the same skills employers need.

3

Skills That Transfer

Even unrelated jobs taught you something. We identify the transferable skills from every experience and position them strategically.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I only have retail or food service experience?

That's exactly who this service is for. We'll focus on your academics while extracting transferable skills (customer service, teamwork, problem-solving) from those roles.

I have an internship — do I still qualify?

If you have relevant internship experience, you need our 30-minute Early Career service. The internship experience changes what we need to discuss. See our packages.

What should I prepare before my interview?

Gather your course descriptions, transcripts, any case study or project documentation, and 1-2 job postings you're targeting. The more context, the better.

Will this work for graduate school applications?

Our service focuses on job-seeking resumes. Academic CVs for grad school have different conventions — contact us to discuss your specific needs.

I'm changing fields after graduation — can you help?

If your degree is in one field but you're targeting another, you may need our Career Transition service instead.

Do you write cover letters too?

Yes! Every package includes a customized cover letter along with your resume. Both are written through the same interview process.
